Cost: What to expect

What does it cost to have a door or window installed?

Upgrading your home with new doors and windows is a significant yet rewarding investment, blending functionality with aesthetic appeal. Here’s an overview of what you can expect in terms of costs and choices. Please note that costs are estimates only and are current at the time of writing this in February 2024. These estimates are for reference only and your costs are likely to vary significantly depending on the scope of your project and the selections you make. Additional things that incur cost are Lead Safe work practices, disposal costs, and custom work charge. Pricing for units can vary highly as well depending on size, style and brand. We do not make any promises about the pricing below. However, since we are the installation company you cut out the middleman and fancy salespeople and are often very competitive on price. We do offer discounted installation for commercial customers, builders and other Business to business customers (such as large apartment complexes or rental companies).

Exterior Doors:

For Single Entry Doors and Doors with Sidelights, the financial journey starts at about $1,000, covering both labor and the door itself. The basic installation labor for a simple entry door with no custom work starts around $500, with additional features like sidelights and custom trim driving the cost upwards. The variability in price largely stems from the selection of door brands, materials, and color options, offering homeowners a spectrum of choices to match their style and budget. Additionally custom work charges and non-standard sizing can quickly add hundreds to thousands of dollars. Most single entry front doors land somewhere around $1500. We have seen entry doors as cheap as $1,000 and as expensive as $8,000 for the material cost alone.

Interior Doors: Blending Seamlessly with Your Home’s Decor

The pricing for Interior Doors opens at $350 to $500 per door, inclusive of installation. This initial range can expand based on the materials selected, the door’s dimensions, and whether the design is a standard fit or requires customization. Brand choice also plays a role in the final cost, enabling homeowners to find options that align with their interior design preferences and practical needs.

Price Range: $350-800

Most people spend: ~$550

Windows

Choosing the right windows is crucial for both the look and energy efficiency of your home. Vinyl Windows are favored for their cost-effectiveness, maintenance ease, and durability, with the cost for full-frame replacements varying according to the window’s size and specific features. Wood Windows, on the other hand, offer a classic appeal and can be customized to suit various architectural styles, though they come at a higher price point due to the premium materials and labor involved in their installation.

Window pricing is probably the most unpredictable and variable depending on choice and installation methods used along with site conditions. The estimated prices below are approximations based on past jobs and represent a “per unit” price including materials and labor.

Price Range per unit: $800-$2,000

Most people spend: ~$1,500
